Terms and conditions
The terms that apply when you use the Tripline website, its maps, figures and forms.
This is an example document written for a fictional company (Tripline Underwriting Ltd). Have it reviewed by a lawyer and adapted to your business, tools and jurisdiction before you publish it.
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Tripline website, operated by Tripline Underwriting Ltd (“Tripline”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms are not an insurance contract: any policy is a separate document, with its own wording, schedule and conditions.
2. What the site is for
The site describes our products and gives general information about weather, catastrophe and travel risks. Nothing on it is an offer of insurance, a quote, advice or a recommendation to buy any product. Cover is available only to eligible businesses, in the places and on the terms stated in a policy schedule issued by us or by a licensed broker.
3. Illustrative figures and demonstration content
Storm names, cell identifiers, readings, tiers, payment amounts, partner names, ratings and examples shown on the site are illustrative. They show how a policy works and do not describe a real storm, a real payment or a real policyholder. Read the Policy Disclosures page for the limits of these examples.
4. Requests, quotes and forms
Sending a form on the site, such as a request for a quote, a message to underwriting or a broker application, does not create a contract. A policy exists only when we issue a schedule and you accept it in writing, and any premium is payable only under that schedule. Buttons that read “Get a quote”, “Talk to underwriting” or “Become a broker” lead to the pages or tools we name on each of them.
5. Using the site
You agree to use the site lawfully. You agree not to attempt to interfere with its operation, to access areas that are not public, to scrape it at a rate that affects other visitors, or to introduce malicious code. We may suspend access if we think these rules are being broken.
6. Intellectual property
The text, graphics, data presentation, logos and code on the site belong to us or to our licensors. You may view the site and print pages for your own business use. You may not copy or republish it, in whole or in part, without our written permission. Names of public data providers and other third parties belong to their owners and are used for reference only.
7. Third-party links and data
The site may link to other sites and tools, such as a booking page or a data provider. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Data attributed to a public provider is shown as an example; Tripline Underwriting Ltd is not affiliated with and is not endorsed by the providers named.
8. No warranty, and limits on our liability
The site is provided “as is”. We try to keep it accurate and available, and we do not promise that it will be free of errors or interruption. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law in your country of residence says otherwise.
10. Changes and contact
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. For questions about these terms, use the address shown on the Contact page: [Contact address: see Contact page].
